Welcome to another gaming “Sneak Peek”
Deus Ex: Mankind Divided is the latest installment in the Deus Ex series, a series of games where discrimination and racial segregation plague a society filled with pure humans and those who were augmented with mechanical parts. Initially slated for release last February 2016, Square Enix, the game’s publisher, announced that the game would be delayed due to improvements and fine-tuning that could still be made to make the game meet their high standards. You can compare prices and find Deus Ex Mankind Divided cheap from our partner stores, but before you do, here’s some background story and a peek into the new and improved gameplay of one of the most anticipated games of 2016.
Deus Ex: Mankind Divided is set in the year 2029, in a futuristic world torn by ideologies and technologies. Two years have passed since the ‘Aug Incident’ which happened on the of the franchise’s previous installment, Deus Ex: Human Revolution, and Adam Jensen, a mechanically-augmented human, returns to the forefront as the main protagonist of the game. Tasked with the mission of hunting mechanically-augmented humans who terrorize people, Adam Jensen uses his mechanical augments and combat experience to stop this terrorist group and bring stability to the region. The Deus Ex franchise has caused controversy for its specific use of the term “mechanical apartheid” in pertaining to the discrimination between humans and the “augmented” that is the core driving force of the game’s dynamic. But the game developers stood by their idea, saying that the game only represents the tendency of the human nature to discriminate, which has been shown in history time and time again.
Deus Ex Mankind Divided is a single-player action game that offers more or less the same gameplay experience that its predecessor did, providing a mixture of stealth, hacking, combat, and even social interactions in completing missions. Mankind Divided improves the game with lots of extra features that make it a unique experience. Deus Ex’s gameplay consists of switching from first-person to third-person perspective, combining elements of first-person shooters and the upgrade system and dialogue trees of role-playing games in presenting its narrative effectively. In Mankind Divided, the player character now has new augmentations that allow more freedom and choices to tackle the game’s challenges. The player could choose to go through the mission using stealth, or by going all out on the enemies. Deus Ex Mankind Divided allows multiple ways to complete the mission, and it’s what makes the game feel like a new experience at every walkthrough.
Unlike the previous installment, Deus Ex Mankind Divided uses its own game engine: the Dawn Engine. The Dawn Engine was developed by Eidos Montreal for the sole purpose of serving as the cornerstone for the Deus Ex Universe series. This means that further plans to expand the game would take advantage of the new features of the Dawn Engine. The Dawn Engine is built on IO Interactive’s Glacier 2 technology that powered Hitman: Absolution.
